Jovanie joined Emergent Method as an intern in 2017, where she leverages her creative vision, outgoing personality, professionalism, and technical experience in assisting with multiple projects for the firm and its clients in areas related to business consulting, mentoring, and leadership development.
Previously, Jovanie participated in the Software Engineering Apprenticeship program at GE Digital, where she established a technical foundation in computer science and learned to improve and make updates on iOS mobile applications. Additionally, she recently completed an internship with Deloitte Consulting in conjunction with Emergent Method as a business technology analyst, assisting in design aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle under the supervision and training of senior analysts and consultants. In this role, Jovanie also worked with various software applications to develop prototypes, simulations, and interactive tools to present to clients.
In addition to her work with Emergent Method, Jovanie is dedicated to understanding research and helping to increase scientific involvement among students as a docent at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory in Livingston, LA. She is a member of the National Institute of Science, where she encourages others to learn new skills within STEM. Additionally, she has been able to present her research and represent her school at various conferences and workshops throughout Louisiana.
Jovanie was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is currently pursuing a degree in computer science in the Dolores Margaret Richard Spikes Honors College at Southern University. She is an active member of several student organizations, including serving as the senior class justice within her Student Government Association, vice president of the National Society of Black Engineers, secretary of Beta Kappa Chi National Scientific Honor Society, and a member of the Pi Sigma Epsilon Professional Sales and Marketing Fraternity. Additionally, Jovanie is dedicated to serving her community and uplifting other students through her affiliation with a multitude of various charitable organizations such as the National Voices for Equality, Education, & Enlightenment, Men & Women of Empowerment Inc., the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, the American Lung Association, and Holiday Helpers, Inc.
