JOB DESCRIPTION
Emergent Method is seeking an experienced financial professional to support the firm and its clients through a variety of functions related to financial analysis and operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Finance, the Financial Analyst plays a critical role on the firm’s administrative team by ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate has experience auditing and analyzing financial or system information, preferably while working in a public accounting firm and/or within the private sector. This person must be extremely organized and detail oriented, an inquisitive problem solver, flexible, highly communicative, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities, often under a tight timeframe. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage company systems to ensure accuracy of information, build and generate reports, and maintain user access
- Review team and project financials to ensure accuracy, financial optimization, and leadership team awareness
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and closeout of projects in various systems
- Review, approve, and resolve any discrepancies related to time entries and expenses to ensure all are recorded correctly
- Perform financial forecasting, fiscal reporting, and billing progress analyses for both internal team members and clients
- Manage business development tracking, including status, follow up, and reporting to the leadership team
- Provide analysis of trends and forecasts
- Make recommendations for optimization and efficiency
- Identify and drive internal process improvements, including the creation of Excel dashboards as well as standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and systems
- Provide additional support to team members and clients, as needed
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- 3-5 years of experience within public accounting, a corporate organization, or other private-sector organization
- Experience in auditing or analyzing financial or system information and making informed recommendations to enhance and improve operations
- Proficient in MS Office, and strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
- Experience with BigTime, QuickBooks and/or ADP preferred
- Extreme attention to detail

- Strong quantitative and analytical competency

- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally
