JOB DESCRIPTION
Emergent Talent, a division of Emergent Method, is looking for an energetic candidate to fill a project-based position on a large-scale system implementation project. The anticipated duration of this remote, full-time position is one year, with possible extension.
The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, and adept in handling a wide range of batch tasks. This individual must be flexible, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and embraces the challenges of supporting the continued development and success of a growing workforce which operates remotely on a regular basis.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Using batch scheduling software (IWS and Control M) and troubleshooting issues with minimal supervision.
- Scheduling and submitting daily, weekly, monthly, and annual batch systems.
- Verifying job(s) setup and troubleshooting IWS issues.
- Ability to support the project after hours – daily support hours are from 05:00 PM CST to 1:00 AM CST.
- Willingness to allocate additional support hours on specific days related to month-end cycles and ad-hoc runs on weekends.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic knowledge of Java/J2EE and ETL tools.
- Well versed with Unix/Linux Commands.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments (shell scripting, visual editor).
- Basic knowledge of SQL queries and databases.
- Understanding of FTP and SSH tools (file compare, WinSCP, Putty).
- Hands-on production environment experience including troubleshooting and analyzing logs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One or more years of experience in an IT operational environment (public sector experience is a plus).
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or two years of post-secondary education in a related field.
- Hands-on experience with IBM Workload Scheduler.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk.
- Hands-on experience with Jira.
- Working knowledge of SQL/SQL Developer and familiarity with LINUX commands and .ksh development.
- Working knowledge of electronic data processing principles, techniques, systems, and standard operating procedures.
- Desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks.
- Proven ability to collaborate at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to alert appropriate customers and programmers of potential problems.
