Meredith Meliet is a strategic communication professional skilled in developing and implementing outreach and engagement, public relations, and communication strategy – primarily for public sector clients and agencies. As a senior consultant at Emergent Method, she supports many clients within the firm’s public sector and disaster recovery disciplines through content development, social media strategy, stakeholder engagement, public outreach, and crisis communication.
Before joining Emergent Method, Meredith served as the Public Information Officer for St. James Parish Government, where she managed all aspects of external communication on behalf of the parish and served as the parish’s spokesperson. Meredith led implementation of several strategic communication initiatives for the parish, including launching an updated website and developing and executing the parish’s emergency communication plan during several natural disasters, including Hurricane Ida. She also implemented the parish’s first ever public records request software system, streamlining efforts to provide documentation to the public and creating a permanent record keeping process. Prior to her time at St. James Parish, she served as a Communications Specialist for Visit Baton Rouge, where she researched and developed creative media ideas, promoted, and pitched the City of Baton Rouge to national media outlets, and served as the organization’s liaison for national and local news agencies.
Meredith is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in communications.
