Alyson is an experienced consultant with expertise rooted in strategic communications, stakeholder outreach and engagement, and media relations. She joined Emergent Method in 2014 and has since focused her efforts with many of the firm’s public-sector clients at the local and state levels.
Alyson currently serves as the Constituent Services Manager for the State of Louisiana’s Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program, where she leads constituent-focused communications and supports the program’s outreach team in efforts to engage homeowners affected by the devastating floods of March and August 2016. Her recent experience also includes working with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, where she led outreach and engagement on behalf of the parish related to the development of new ordinances focused on drainage infrastructure to help address the area’s rapid economic growth; the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, where she served as a member of the outreach and engagement team for Louisiana’s 2017 Comprehensive Master Plan for a Sustainable Coast – a $50 billion plan mandated by the Louisiana Legislature that outlines restoration and protection measures; and the City of Baton Rouge/Parish of East Baton Rouge, where she supported a number of digital engagement and innovation-related initiatives led by the Department of Information Services.
In her role with the City-Parish, Alyson’s work included supporting the development of a comprehensive strategic plan for digital engagement in order to position Baton Rouge as a leader in digital growth and innovation in the southern United States. Two of the core components to this planning work included leading a pilot initiative with the Baton Rouge Police Department to develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to further the department’s community policing, transparency, and recruitment priorities, and collaborating with the City-Parish and its partners to implement an emergency and crisis management plan in the midst of the historic Baton Rouge flooding of August 2016.
Alyson holds two degrees from Louisiana State University – a Bachelor of Arts in Political Communication, with a minor in Arabic Studies and additional coursework in Disaster Science Management, and a Master of Business Administration from the E.J. Ourso College of Business Flores Professional MBA Program.
