An experienced management consultant with expertise rooted in strategic planning and organizational design, public outreach, strategic communication, change management, and project management, John has led numerous organizational design, planning, and outreach and engagement efforts on a local, regional, and statewide level. As a partner at Emergent Method, John serves as a member of the firm’s leadership team and a strategy consultant focused on improving clients’ organizational performance, communications, programs and initiatives across various sectors such as technology, infrastructure, health care, and more.
He has worked on numerous projects for local and state public sector agencies over the past several years, including his work in leading statewide economic development and workforce development initiatives, leading communications and public outreach for a $750 million transportation improvements program, leading community outreach and engagement efforts to improve drainage infrastructure and public policy for one of the fastest-growing areas in the U.S., leading an economic and community impact study for a metropolitan regional airport, leading multiple economic and workforce development studies designed to support one of the nation’s fastest-growing economies in the greater Las Vegas area, and serving as a senior consultant in the development and implementation of a statewide floodplain management program focused on reducing flood risk and increasing resilience. John also leads the strategic planning process for numerous public agencies and nonprofit organizations, including higher education institutions and colleges, local and state government agencies, convention and visitor bureaus, and nonprofits in sectors ranging from children and family services to health and human services.
In 2011, John was named to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report’s “Forty Under 40” list in recognition of his career and entrepreneurial success, balancing bottom-line results with involvement in community and charitable activities. He is a 2012 graduate of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Leadership Baton Rouge program and a 2014 graduate of the Council for A Better Louisiana’s Leadership Louisiana Class. He also serves on several local and regional boards of directors, including Baton Rouge’s Downtown Business Association, the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication’s Alumni Executive Board, and the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. He speaks frequently at local, regional, and national conferences on topics such as smart city planning and entrepreneurship.
In 2019, the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication awarded John its T.C. Shields Award for Outstanding Alumni Service in recognition of all his dedication to the university and school. In 2022, Forum 35 recognized John with its Baton Rouge Original award in honor of his service to the Baton Rouge young professional community throughout his career.
He earned two degrees from Louisiana State University, his Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from the Manship School of Mass Communication and his Master of Business Administration from the E.J. Ourso School of Business–Flores MBA Program.
