Leslie Austin is an experienced human resource executive with expertise that includes human resources compliance, talent recruitment and placement from executive and C-level staff to front-line supervisors, benefits administration, payroll management, personnel development, and more. As part of the Emergent Method senior leadership team, she is responsible for leading and executing all human resource initiatives for the firm, as well as Emergent Talent – a division of Emergent Method focused on supporting clients on large-scale project staffing needs.
Prior to joining Emergent Method in 2018, Leslie served as chief operations officer for HR Solutions, a leading human resource management service provider for the southern U.S., where she spent the past ten years serving in a number of human resources, workforce development, talent recruitment, benefits management, and labor and employment law compliance roles. Most recently, Leslie served as a member of the company’s executive team where she was responsible for strategic oversight of the company’s five core operating sectors in human resources, safety, information technology, benefits, and payroll. In this role, Leslie also led a number of initiatives focused on executive and senior-level talent recruitment and placement, including the search, recruitment, and placement of senior-level staff for a leading Gulf Coast industrial construction firm; senior-level operational leadership for a Louisiana-based industrial contractor; C-level leadership for a specialty medical clinic with locations throughout the gulf south region of the state; senior-level business operations leadership for an international nuclear power plant service provider; and business development staff for a regional economic development organization.
Leslie is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physics and her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. She is extremely active in the human resource industry, holding certifications such as the Society for Human Resource Management’s Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification. In addition, she is a graduate of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s 2017 Leadership Baton Rouge program and actively volunteers with a number of local non-profit organizations in and around the Baton Rouge area.
