McCaala Nelson is a public relations professional, bringing knowledge in content creation, brand strategy and design, and strategic communication to support Emergent Method’s clients in her role as a consultant.
Before joining Emergent Method in 2020, McCaala supported social media and marketing efforts for several organizations, including the office of Governor John Bel Edwards, Louisiana State University Study Abroad Office, and the New Orleans Video Access Center. McCaala has led strategy and content development for several social media campaigns, including copywriting, planning and developing content calendars, and transforming concepts to adhere to all relevant platforms and industry standards. Additionally, McCaala is skilled in helping clients connect with and grow their online audience by leveraging online analytics and metrics.
McCaala is also founder of MADE x MC, LLC, through which she assisted over 100 entrepreneurs in developing unique branding materials, including logo development and marketing collateral.
McCaala is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration in public relations. During her time at LSU, she was heavily involved in LSU NAACP and Black Student Union, where she served on the executive board, and planned programming and events to engage both the organization’s membership and the broader student body. McCaala was also selected as a member of Leadership LSU’s Class of 2019.
